💖 Scripture of the Day:
“Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God.” — Acts 7:55
Acts 5–7 reveals both the challenges and triumphs of the early Church. We see God’s concern for purity in the story of Ananias and Sapphira, the apostles’ growing influence through signs and wonders, and the first recorded martyrdom — that of Stephen, whose faith and forgiveness mirror Christ’s own. Despite persecution, the Church does not weaken but grows stronger through the Spirit’s power. These chapters remind us that obedience to God often requires courage and endurance, yet His presence never leaves those who stand for truth.
📖 Overview of Acts 5–7
🔹 Acts 5 – Ananias and Sapphira’s deceit and death; the apostles’ miraculous works and bold witness despite imprisonment.
🔹 Acts 6 – The appointment of seven deacons, including Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit.
🔹 Acts 7 – Stephen’s sermon before the Sanhedrin and his martyrdom, forgiving his killers as he sees the glory of God.
💠 Spirit-Filled Courage and Integrity
Acts 5–7 displays the purity, power, and perseverance of the early believers. Their unity, service, and courage under fire show that the Gospel cannot be silenced. God still calls His Church to the same faith — a faith that speaks truth, serves in love, and stands strong even in suffering.
