— Proverbs 31:25
She Carries Strength
There is something extraordinary about the way God created women.
Not extraordinary in the loud, self-promoting way the world often celebrates greatness. But extraordinary in the quiet, enduring, deeply powerful way that changes lives from the inside out.
Women carry things.
We carry families.
We carry burdens.
We carry prayers.
We carry memories.
We carry responsibilities nobody sees.
And often, we carry pain while still somehow managing to pour love into everyone around us.
International Women’s Day is often filled with messages about empowerment, success, and achievement. And while there is nothing wrong with celebrating women’s accomplishments, I think many women are quietly longing for something deeper than applause.
We want to know:
- Does my life matter?
- Does God see me?
- Is there purpose in the ordinary parts of my life?
- Is strength still beautiful when it looks soft, nurturing, or unseen?
Scripture answers those questions with a resounding yes.
God Has Always Worked Powerfully Through Women
The Bible is filled with women whose lives carried extraordinary influence—not because they fought for attention, but because they walked closely with God.
Deborah carried wisdom and courage in a time of national fear.
Esther carried bravery into a room where one wrong move could have cost her life.
Mary carried the Savior of the world quietly within her before anyone understood what God was doing.
Ruth carried faithfulness into a season of grief and uncertainty, never realizing her story would become part of the lineage of Christ Himself.
And then there are the unnamed women Scripture barely pauses to describe:
- women who cooked meals
- women who prayed faithfully
- women who gave sacrificially
- women who followed Jesus quietly
- women who stayed near the cross when others fled
Heaven remembers what the world overlooks.
That matters.
A Woman’s Strength Is Often Different Than the World’s Definition
The world often defines greatness by visibility:
- status
- influence
- platform
- power
But God often reveals greatness through:
- faithfulness
- humility
- endurance
- compassion
- courage under pressure
- love that keeps showing up
Some of the strongest women are not the loudest women.
Sometimes the strongest woman is the one:
- holding her family together while battling anxiety
- praying through tears after everyone else is asleep
- showing kindness after being wounded
- continuing to trust God in a season she never would have chosen
- quietly refusing to become bitter
That kind of strength is holy.
And God sees it all.
Jesus Elevated Women in a World That Often Didn’t
One of the most beautiful things about Jesus is how He treated women.
In a culture where women were often dismissed, overlooked, or silenced, Jesus:
- spoke with them openly
- taught them
- defended them
- healed them
- honored them
- entrusted them with truth
Women sat at His feet as disciples.
Women financially supported His ministry.
Women remained near Him in suffering.
And women were the first witnesses of the resurrection.
That is not accidental.
Jesus consistently revealed the dignity, value, and spiritual depth of women.
Not because women are superior to men.
But because women, too, bear the image of God and carry eternal significance.
To the Woman Reading This Today
Maybe you feel strong today.
Or maybe you feel tired.
Maybe you are thriving.
Or maybe you are barely holding things together.
Maybe your life feels meaningful.
Or maybe you quietly wonder whether anyone notices all you carry.
God notices.
He sees:
- the love nobody thanked you for
- the sacrifices nobody recognized
- the prayers nobody heard
- the burdens you carried silently
- the strength it took just to keep going
And He does not measure your worth by your productivity, appearance, popularity, or public success.
Your value was established long before you proved anything.
You are a woman created intentionally by God Himself.
And whether your influence reaches thousands or simply touches the people inside your own home, your life has profound significance when it is surrendered to Him.
A Different Kind of Greatness
The older I get, the more I realize that the women who leave the deepest impact are rarely the women trying hardest to appear important.
They are the women who:
- love deeply
- remain teachable
- stay tender without becoming weak
- carry wisdom gently
- point people toward Christ
- continue growing through suffering instead of hardening in it
That kind of beauty grows stronger with time.
And heaven calls it precious.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity…”
— Proverbs 31:25
Not because life was easy.
But because God was faithful.
A Prayer for Women Everywhere
Lord,
Thank You for the women You created with such beauty, depth, strength, and compassion. Strengthen weary hearts, heal wounded ones, and remind every woman reading this that her life carries eternal value. Teach us to walk closely with You, love deeply, and reflect Your heart in the world around us.
Amen.
