💖 Scripture of the Day:
“Then Jesus said to Simon, ‘Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.’” — Luke 5:10
In these chapters, we see the dawning of Jesus’ public ministry — the call to repentance, the revelation of His divine identity, and the invitation to follow Him. John the Baptist prepares the way, preaching repentance and pointing to the One greater than himself. Jesus is baptized, tempted, and anointed for His mission. He begins to preach, heal, and call ordinary people to extraordinary purpose. Luke 3–5 reminds us that the gospel begins not in power or prestige but in humility, repentance, and obedience. God calls us to prepare our hearts, trust His word, and follow where He leads.
📖 Overview of Luke 3–5
🔹 Luke 3 – John the Baptist preaches repentance and baptizes Jesus; a voice from heaven confirms Jesus as God’s beloved Son.
🔹 Luke 4 – Jesus is tempted in the wilderness, begins His ministry, and is rejected in His hometown of Nazareth.
🔹 Luke 5 – Jesus calls His first disciples, performs miraculous healings, and declares forgiveness of sins.
💠 From Wilderness to Wonder
Luke 3–5 shows that God’s preparation often comes before His promise. The wilderness shapes us, repentance begins the cleansing process, and obedience launches us into His mission. When we respond to His call, He turns our ordinary lives into instruments of His glory.
