September 9 – Who and how will I encourage and serve today?
đź’– Scripture for the Day
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Reflection
The Holy Spirit not only comforts us but also equips us to comfort and serve others. Encouragement is more than kind words—it is Spirit-led affirmation that strengthens weary hearts and points people back to God’s faithfulness.
Service, too, is a natural overflow of love. When we serve others, whether in big or small ways, we reflect Christ’s servant heart. Sometimes encouragement comes as a smile, a listening ear, a handwritten note, or a helping hand in daily tasks.
The Spirit nudges us toward people who need hope, reminding us that encouragement and service are not burdens but invitations to be God’s hands and voice of love in the world.
Daily Practice
Ask the Lord to place someone on your heart today who needs encouragement. Then take one tangible step to serve or uplift them—a prayer, a phone call, a kind gesture, or an act of generosity.
✍️ Journal Prompt
Who is God bringing to mind that needs encouragement or help today? How can you intentionally serve them in a way that points them to Jesus?
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for encouraging me through Your Spirit. Open my eyes to those who need hope today. Teach me to listen to Your prompting and to serve with humility and love. May my words and actions build others up and glorify You. Amen.
