September 7 – Today, Do something you delight in. Enjoy yourself in the presence of God.
💖 Scripture for the Day
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
Reflection
Rest is not simply the absence of work—it is the presence of God. True rest comes when we step away from striving, lay down our burdens, and delight in the Lord who delights in us.
The Holy Spirit reminds us that rest is a gift, not a reward. When we do something we delight in—a walk, a hobby, laughter with loved ones—we enter into a kind of worship, enjoying God’s goodness in the simple pleasures He provides.
God’s presence is not confined to prayer closets and pews. He is with us in the everyday moments when our hearts are lifted in gratitude. To rest in His presence is to say, “I trust You enough to stop and enjoy Your goodness.”
Daily Practice
Today, choose one thing that brings you delight—a hobby, a favorite place, or time with someone you love—and enjoy it fully. As you do, invite God into that moment and thank Him for His presence.
✍️ Journal Prompt
What is one activity or moment that brings you the deepest sense of delight? How can you intentionally invite God into that space today?
Prayer
Lord, Thank You for being the God of rest and delight. Help me to slow down and receive this gift from You. Teach me to enjoy Your presence not only in prayer but also in the simple joys of life. May my rest honor You and refresh my soul. Amen.
