💖 Scripture of the Day:
“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” — 1 Corinthians 3:7
1 Corinthians 1–4 opens Paul’s deeply pastoral letter to a struggling but beloved church. Corinth was gifted and energetic, yet divided, prideful, and easily swayed by worldly values. Paul begins by calling believers back to what truly matters — Christ alone. He confronts division, contrasts God’s wisdom with human wisdom, and reminds them that spiritual growth is God’s work. These four chapters show that the Christian life is built not on personality, power, or pride, but on humble dependence on Jesus. Paul’s words still guide the Church today toward unity, maturity, and a Christ-centered faith.
📖 Overview of 1 Corinthians 1–4
🔹 1 Corinthians 1 – Paul addresses divisions and exalts the wisdom and power of the cross.
🔹 1 Corinthians 2 – True wisdom comes through the Spirit, not human reasoning.
🔹 1 Corinthians 3 – Believers are God’s field and building; growth comes from God.

💠 Wisdom That Unites and Transforms
1 Corinthians 1–4 calls believers to reject worldly pride and embrace the wisdom of the cross. When we build our lives on Christ alone, the Church grows stronger and God receives all the glory.
📚 Bible Study Points and Reflections
- 🔖 1 Corinthians 1: Christ, Our Wisdom
- 📌 Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 1:18 – “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us… it is the power of God.”
- 💡 Reflection: The Gospel doesn’t fit the world’s expectations — it overturns them. God’s power is revealed through the cross, not through human strength or status.
- ❓ Application: Are there areas where you rely on human wisdom instead of the simple, saving power of Christ?
- 🔖 1 Corinthians 2: Wisdom from the Spirit
- 📌 Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 2:12 – “We… have received the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.”
- 💡 Reflection: Spiritual truth cannot be grasped by intellect alone. The Holy Spirit reveals God’s heart and helps us understand His gifts, His Word, and His will.
- ❓ Application: How can you rely more intentionally on the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment?
- 🔖 1 Corinthians 3: Growth That Comes from God
- 📌 Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 3:7 – “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”
- 💡 Reflection: We may plant seeds and water them, but God brings the growth. Spiritual pride steals glory from God and harms unity in the Church.
- ❓ Application: Where do you need to give God the glory instead of taking credit for spiritual growth or success?
- 🔖 1 Corinthians 4: Servants and Stewards
- 📌 Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 4:2 – “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”
- 💡 Reflection: True leadership in God’s Kingdom is marked by humility, faithfulness, and servanthood — not popularity or applause. Paul lived this out even when misunderstood.
- ❓ Application: How can you live as a faithful steward of the gifts, roles, and responsibilities God has entrusted to you?
