💖 Scripture of the Day:

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you.” — Zephaniah 3:17

Zephaniah’s prophecy is both sobering and hopeful. He begins with a sweeping announcement of judgment upon all creation because of sin and idolatry. Yet in the midst of this coming “Day of the Lord,” a message of mercy shines through — God will purify a remnant and restore His people. Zephaniah reminds us that God’s justice is never without compassion. Though He must confront evil, His ultimate desire is to renew hearts and dwell among His people in joy. These chapters reveal the full heart of God — a righteous Judge and a loving Redeemer who rejoices over those who turn back to Him.

📖 Overview of Zephaniah 1–3

🔹 Zephaniah 1 – The coming judgment upon Judah and all nations for idolatry and complacency.
🔹 Zephaniah 2 – A call to seek humility and righteousness before the day of wrath; God’s judgment extends to surrounding nations.
🔹 Zephaniah 3 – Jerusalem’s rebellion is exposed, yet God promises restoration and rejoicing for those who trust in Him.

📣 Judgment and Joy United

Zephaniah 1–3 shows us the balance of God’s character — holy and just, yet rich in mercy. The same God who must punish sin also restores those who repent. The book ends not in despair, but in a song of joy as God Himself rejoices over His people. In His justice we find cleansing; in His love we find peace.
