💖 Scripture of the Day

“The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you.” — Obadiah 1:15

Woman Reading Bible with Coffee

Obadiah is the shortest book in the Old Testament, yet its message carries immense weight. It delivers God’s judgment against Edom for its pride, violence, and betrayal of Judah. At the same time, it points forward to the “day of the Lord,” when God will bring justice to all nations and restore His people. Though small in size, Obadiah proclaims a big truth: God opposes the proud, but He defends and uplifts those who trust Him. His justice may be delayed, but it is never denied.

📖 Overview of Obadiah

🔹 Verses 1–9 – God’s judgment on Edom’s pride and false security.
🔹 Verses 10–14 – Edom’s violence against Judah and failure to help in crisis.
🔹 Verses 15–18 – The day of the Lord brings judgment on all nations.
🔹 Verses 19–21 – God promises deliverance and restoration for His people.

📣 Justice and Restoration

Though Obadiah is short, its message is profound. God opposes pride, judges injustice, and holds nations accountable. But He also promises deliverance and restoration for His people. In Obadiah we see both the seriousness of sin and the certainty of God’s redeeming plan.
