Taught by the Spirit

Welcoming The Holy Spirit Series

September 3 – Today, pray specifically for the Holy Spirit to teach you something new this month.

đź’– Scripture for the Day

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
— John 14:26

Taught By the Spirit

Reflection

The Holy Spirit is not only our Comforter but also our Teacher. Just as a good teacher meets us where we are, patiently explains, and helps us grow, the Spirit comes alongside us to reveal the truth of God’s Word and guide us into deeper understanding.

Often we look for human wisdom or our own reasoning to make sense of life, but the Spirit’s teaching goes beyond head knowledge—it shapes the heart. He teaches us how to forgive, how to walk humbly, how to trust God in uncertainty, and how to see ourselves through God’s eyes.

As you enter this month, what new lesson might the Spirit want to write on your heart? Sometimes it’s a truth we’ve heard before but need to experience in a fresh way. Sometimes it’s something entirely new, preparing us for the season ahead.

Daily Practice

Today, pray with expectancy: “Holy Spirit, teach me something new this month.” Keep a journal nearby. As Scripture, sermons, conversations, or even circumstances stir your heart, write down insights that feel like whispers from Him. At the end of the month, look back and celebrate what He has taught you.

✍️ Journal Prompt

Think back on a time when the Holy Spirit taught you something important (through Scripture, prayer, or experience). What lesson did you learn, and how might God be preparing to teach you something new this month?

Prayer

Holy Spirit,
I open my heart to You as my Teacher. Remove any pride or distraction that keeps me from learning. Plant new truths in me this month—truths that will draw me closer to Jesus and help me live in Your wisdom. Make me teachable, humble, and ready to receive.
Amen.
