Woman Reading Bible with Coffee

These chapters shine a bright light of hope after so many heavy words of judgment. God condemns the false shepherds of Israel who exploited the flock, and He promises to be the true Shepherd who gathers, heals, and leads His people. He foretells a day of restoration where the land will be fruitful again and the exiles will be regathered. Most powerfully, God promises to give His people a new heart and a new spirit, cleansing them and causing them to walk in His ways. These passages remind us that God is not only Judge but also Redeemer, Shepherd, and Restorer. His goal is not just outward reform but inward renewal—hearts that beat in step with His Spirit.

📖 Overview of Ezekiel 34–36

🔹 Ezekiel 34 – God condemns the unfaithful shepherds and promises to shepherd His people Himself.
🔹 Ezekiel 35 – A prophecy against Edom for their violence and hatred toward Israel.
🔹 Ezekiel 36 – God promises restoration of the land and people, giving them a new heart and a new spirit.

👑 God the Shepherd and Restorer

Ezekiel 34–36 moves us from failure to hope, from judgment to restoration. God condemns false shepherds but promises to personally lead His flock. He declares His power over enemies and promises to transform His people from the inside out with a new heart and Spirit. These chapters remind us that God’s care is personal, His promises are sure, and His glory is revealed in the renewal of His people.

    • 💡 Reflection: God is personally invested in the care of His people. Where human leaders fail, He steps in to guide and protect.
    • Application: Are you letting the Lord shepherd every part of your life, or are you following voices that lead you away from Him?
  • 🔖 Ezekiel 35: Judgment on Edom
    • 📌 Key Verse: Ezekiel 35:15 – “Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you.”
    • 💡 Reflection: God takes seriously how nations and people treat His own. Pride and cruelty bring judgment.

  • 🔖 Ezekiel 36: A New Heart and Spirit
    • 📌 Key Verse: Ezekiel 36:26 – “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
    • 💡 Reflection: True transformation is God’s work from the inside out. He doesn’t just reform us—He renews us completely.
    • Application: What areas of your life most need God’s renewing Spirit right now?
