Wisdom Wednesday:
Every day presents us with choices—some small, like what to have for breakfast, and others life-changing, like choosing a career path, handling a difficult relationship, or making an important family decision. In those moments, we long for clarity, wisdom, and direction. But where do we turn? Who do we trust to guide us in the right way?
As we continue our February series on love and relationships, today’s Wisdom Wednesday is all about seeking God’s wisdom in every aspect of our lives. When we lean into His understanding rather than our own, we find the guidance our hearts crave.

A Reflection on God’s Wisdom
The Bible is filled with wisdom on how to navigate life’s challenges, but one of the most well-known passages reminds us where true wisdom begins:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
God’s wisdom is far greater than our limited human perspective. When we try to figure things out on our own, we can get overwhelmed, anxious, or even make choices we later regret. But when we trust in His wisdom, we find peace, direction, and confidence, even when the path ahead seems unclear.
How Do We Seek God’s Wisdom?
If you’ve ever struggled with making decisions or understanding what God wants for you, here are a few ways to intentionally seek His guidance:
1. Pray for Wisdom – James 1:5 reminds us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” God doesn’t withhold wisdom from those who sincerely seek it. Bring your concerns to Him in prayer and trust that He will provide clarity in His perfect timing.
2. Seek God’s Word – The Bible is our roadmap for life. Through scripture, God speaks to our hearts, giving us insight into His ways. Whether it’s a passage that jumps out to you during your quiet time or a verse that brings peace to your heart, the Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
3. Listen to the Holy Spirit – God’s Spirit dwells within us to guide, convict, and comfort. Sometimes, wisdom comes as a gentle nudge in our hearts, a conviction to take a step of faith, or even a sense of peace that surpasses understanding. Are you listening for His still, small voice?
4. Surround Yourself with Godly Counsel – Proverbs 15:22 says, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed.” God often speaks through wise and faithful friends, mentors, or spiritual leaders who can provide godly perspective and encouragement.
5. Trust His Timing – Sometimes, seeking God’s wisdom requires waiting. We may not always receive immediate answers, but trusting His timing reminds us that He is never late, never confused, and always working things out for our good.
