September 5 – Today, sit in solitude for 10 minutes, no technology. Listen in stillness and focus on the goodness of God’s Spirit.
💖 Scripture for the Day
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Reflection
In a world of constant noise, stillness can feel uncomfortable. Yet it is in the quiet that we often become most aware of God’s Spirit. Listening prayer is not about bringing our long list of requests, but about resting in His presence and opening our hearts to His whispers.
When we intentionally set aside technology, distractions, and noise, we create space for God to remind us of His goodness. The Spirit speaks in the peace of silence, often not with words, but with an overwhelming sense of His nearness and love.
Listening is an act of surrender—it says, “Lord, I am here for You, not just for what You can do for me.”
Daily Practice
Today, find a quiet space and sit in stillness for 10 minutes. No phone, no background noise, no agenda. Simply breathe and focus on the goodness of God’s Spirit. If your mind wanders, gently return to this thought: “You are good, Lord.”
✍️ Journal Prompt
What did you notice in the stillness today? Did you sense peace, a Scripture coming to mind, or simply a deeper awareness of God’s presence? Write it down.
Prayer
Lord, Teach me to be still before You. Quiet the noise in my heart so I can hear Your Spirit more clearly. Help me to delight in Your goodness and to treasure these moments of silence with You. May my listening heart grow sensitive to Your presence in every part of my day. Amen.
