Prepared, Not Pursued:

Have You Been Striving Too Hard?
Have you ever felt exhausted from trying to make things happen in your life? Like you’re running after something just out of reach—opportunity, healing, answers, success, peace? I have. And honestly, it’s a heavy way to live.
But here’s something God’s been showing me:
You were never meant to chase what God already prepared for you.
Let that settle in for a moment.
God Has Already Gone Ahead of You
Scripture tells us in Ephesians 2:10 that we are God’s workmanship, created for good works which He prepared in advance for us to do.
Not only does God know your future—He’s already gone ahead and laid the path. That means you don’t have to force your way through life. You’re not called to hustle for blessings. You’re invited to walk in step with God and trust that what He has for you will meet you at the right time.
The truth is, in the Kingdom of God, it’s less about the pursuit and more about the position of your heart.
It’s an Inside-Out Journey
We often measure progress by what we can see: goals achieved, prayers answered, doors opened. But God measures something deeper—He’s watching who we are becoming in the process.
“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7
God is more interested in what’s happening inside you than in what you’re chasing outside of you. That job you want, that relationship you’re praying for, that breakthrough you’re waiting on—they matter to Him. But your heart, your character, your alignment with Him? That’s where the Kingdom work is taking place.
Jesus Gave Us the Strategy
Jesus laid it out clearly:
“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33
This isn’t just a verse to quote—it’s a life strategy. When we seek to understand how God’s Kingdom operates, when we choose to live by His principles, and when we align our hearts with His righteousness, something amazing happens:
What we’ve been striving for… starts to find us.
Peace finds us. Provision finds us. Purpose finds us. But not because we chased it. Because we positioned ourselves in Him.
Are You Ready for the Promise?
Here’s the next layer:
God’s promises are real, but they are often released in due time—when we’re ready, not just when we’re eager.
Think about Joseph. He had a God-given dream at 17, but he didn’t step into the palace until years later. Why? Because the version of Joseph that received the dream wasn’t yet ready to carry the weight of it. The waiting wasn’t punishment—it was preparation.
The version of who you are becoming determines the timing of what God can entrust to you.
And when that time comes—when the blessing shows up, the opportunity opens, or the prayer is answered—there’s still a question to consider:
Do I have the character to sustain it?
Do I have the wisdom to multiply it—not just for myself, but for others?
It’s Not Just for You
That last piece is so important.
In God’s Kingdom, it’s never just about what you gain. It’s about who benefits from what you’ve been given.
That’s the heart of stewardship.
It’s what Jesus modeled.
And it’s what we’re called to live.
Whatever God places in your hands—resources, gifts, influence, healing, even testimony—it’s not meant to end with you. It’s meant to flow through you. To become a breakthrough not just for your life, but for someone else’s too.
Final Thoughts: Let Grace Catch Up to You
Maybe today you need to stop and ask:
- Am I chasing what God already prepared?
- Am I trying to force things instead of aligning my heart?
- Am I becoming the kind of person who can carry God’s promises well?
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop running—and start seeking.
Not outcomes. Not validation.
But Him.
Because when you seek first the Kingdom, what you need will find you—on time, in season, and in a way only God can orchestrate.
So take a breath. Let grace catch up to you. He’s got you, friend.
