💖 Scripture of the Day
“Your wealth, merchandise and goods… will sink into the heart of the sea on the day of your shipwreck.” — Ezekiel 27:27
In these chapters, Ezekiel delivers God’s judgment not only against Judah but also against the surrounding nations who rejoiced at Israel’s downfall. Ammon, Moab, Edom, and Philistia are condemned for their pride and hostility. Tyre, a wealthy trading city, is also brought low, its grandeur stripped away because of arrogance and reliance on riches. These chapters remind us that no nation, city, or person can exalt themselves against God and escape His justice. Yet they also emphasize that God’s glory is revealed not only in blessing but also in righteous judgment. For the believer, this is a call to humility, dependence, and trust in God rather than in wealth, power, or human pride.
📖 Overview of Ezekiel 25–27
🔹 Ezekiel 25 – Judgments pronounced on Ammon, Moab, Edom, and Philistia for mocking and opposing Israel.
🔹 Ezekiel 26 – Prophecy against Tyre, declaring its destruction as a seaport city that prided itself in riches and security.
🔹 Ezekiel 27 – A lament for Tyre, vividly portraying its former wealth and splendor, now brought to ruin.
👑 Pride Brought Low, God Lifted High
Ezekiel 25–27 reminds us that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Nations, cities, and individuals who exalt themselves will fall, but those who honor God will find lasting refuge. Let us not boast in strength or wealth but in the Lord who reigns over all.
