💖 Scripture of the Day:
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” — Mark 10:45
In these chapters, Jesus shifts His focus toward preparing His disciples for His coming suffering and the cost of true discipleship. The miracles continue — the feeding of the four thousand, healing of the blind, and casting out of demons — but the message deepens: following Christ means taking up your cross. Through Peter’s confession, the transfiguration, and Jesus’ teachings on humility and servanthood, we see the heart of God’s kingdom — greatness through service, strength through surrender. These passages call us to examine our hearts and embrace a faith that follows Jesus wherever He leads, no matter the cost.
📖 Overview of Mark 8–10
🔹 Mark 8 – Jesus feeds four thousand, heals a blind man, Peter confesses Jesus as the Messiah, and Jesus predicts His death.
🔹 Mark 9 – The transfiguration, healing of a possessed boy, and lessons on humility and true greatness.
🔹 Mark 10 – Teachings on marriage, the rich young ruler, Jesus’ third prediction of His death, and the call to servant leadership.
💠 The Way of the Cross
Mark 8–10 reminds us that the call to follow Jesus is a call to transformation. He doesn’t promise ease — He promises purpose. Through surrender, service, and sacrifice, we grow into His likeness. The Servant King leads us by example, showing that true victory is found not in power but in obedience and love.
