💖 Scripture of the Day
“But if you will indeed stay in this land, then I will build you up and not pull you down; I will plant you and not pluck you up, for I relent concerning the disaster that I did to you.” — Jeremiah 42:10
These chapters capture the heartbreaking fall of Jerusalem, the fulfillment of Jeremiah’s warnings, and the aftermath for God’s people. In chapter 39, Jerusalem is conquered, and King Zedekiah faces the tragic consequences of disobedience. Yet Jeremiah is spared and protected, showing God’s care for His servant. Chapters 40–41 reveal the fragile attempts to restore order under Gedaliah, but rebellion and violence quickly follow. In chapter 42, the remnant seeks Jeremiah’s guidance but struggles with truly trusting God’s direction. These passages show both the devastation of rebellion against God and the call to seek Him with sincerity.
