As we welcome May, we embark on a new journey with our theme: “Living with Purpose: Walking Boldly in Your Calling.” Today, May 1st, holds special significance as it marks the National Day of Prayer in the United States—a day dedicated to seeking God’s guidance and interceding for our nation.
Scripture Reflection: Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
This verse serves as a powerful reminder that God has a divine plan for each of us. Even when circumstances seem uncertain, His intentions are to bring us hope and a future filled with purpose.
Understanding the Context
Jeremiah 29:11 was originally addressed to the Israelites exiled in Babylon, assuring them that their suffering was not the end of their story. God promised restoration and a hopeful future. Today, this promise resonates with us, affirming that our trials are not in vain and that God is orchestrating our lives for His glory.
National Day of Prayer 2025 Theme
This year’s National Day of Prayer theme is inspired by Romans 15:13:
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” — Romans 15:13 (NIV)
The theme, “Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled,” encourages us to seek God’s presence, allowing Him to fill us with joy, peace, and hope. As we align ourselves with His purpose, we become vessels of His love and light in the world.
Living with Purpose

Prayer for Purpose
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the plans You have for me—plans filled with hope and a future. On this National Day of Prayer, I seek Your guidance. Reveal Your purpose for my life and grant me the strength to walk boldly in my calling. Fill me with Your joy, peace, and hope, so I may be a light to others.
