Sunday Scripture Reflection:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
As we continue into this new month, let’s take a moment to reflect on God’s call to be strong and courageous. Courage isn’t just about boldness in the face of danger—it’s about trusting God even when the path ahead seems uncertain. It’s about stepping forward in faith, knowing that He goes before us, walks beside us, and never leaves us.
Joshua 1:9 is one of the most well-known verses about courage, but have you ever noticed how it’s not just a suggestion? God commands Joshua (and us) to be strong and courageous. Why? Because fear is one of the greatest obstacles that can hold us back from God’s purpose for our lives. When we allow fear or discouragement to take root, we hesitate, doubt, and sometimes even stop moving forward altogether. But God, in His faithfulness, reassures us: You are not alone. I am with you.
Think about the times in your life when you’ve needed courage. Maybe it was making a tough decision, stepping into an unknown situation, or standing firm in your faith when others doubted you. Wherever you are today, God is reminding you that His presence is enough. You don’t have to muster up courage on your own—it comes from knowing that the Almighty God is by your side.
Let’s make this our focus today: Where is God calling you to be courageous? Is there an area of your life where you’ve been holding back out of fear or uncertainty? Spend some time in prayer, asking Him to fill you with the strength and boldness that only He can provide.

Prayer for Courage
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding us that we don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. You have commanded us to be strong and courageous—not in our own strength, but in Yours. Today, we ask for Your peace to replace our fears and for Your Spirit to fill us with boldness.
Help us to trust in Your promises, to walk in faith even when the way is unclear, and to cling to the truth that You are always with us. May we find confidence in Your presence and step forward with unwavering courage.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
