📖 Scripture of the Day: Numbers 23:19 –
“God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”
This verse reminds us of God’s unwavering faithfulness. Unlike humans, He never lies, changes His mind, or fails to fulfill His promises. When God speaks, it is certain—His word is unshakable!
Numbers 21-23 reminds us of God’s sovereignty over His people and His ability to turn obstacles into blessings. As Israel continues their journey, they face battles, impatience, and external opposition. Yet, through it all, God remains faithful, providing both physical and spiritual deliverance. The bronze serpent serves as a powerful foreshadowing of Christ’s redemption, while Balaam’s failed attempts to curse Israel highlight God’s unshakable promises.
These chapters encourage us to trust God’s provision, even in difficult circumstances. No human opposition can thwart His plans, and no hardship is beyond His ability to redeem. As we reflect on these passages, we’re reminded that God’s blessings cannot be revoked, and His guidance is always worth following.
📚 Overview of Numbers 21-23
🔹 Numbers 21 – Victory and the Bronze Serpent
Israel defeats several enemies but grows impatient, complaining against God. As a result, venomous snakes afflict them. God instructs Moses to raise a bronze serpent, and all who look at it are healed—a foreshadowing of Christ’s redemption.
🔹 Numbers 22 – Balaam and Balak
Balak, the king of Moab, fears Israel’s strength and hires Balaam, a pagan prophet, to curse them. However, God intervenes, warning Balaam and using his own donkey to reveal His will.
🔹 Numbers 23 – Blessing Instead of Cursing
Despite Balak’s persistence, Balaam can only speak what God allows. Instead of cursing Israel, Balaam proclaims blessings over them, emphasizing that God’s promises cannot be undone by human schemes.
God’s Blessings Cannot Be Stopped
Numbers 21-23 reveals God’s unwavering faithfulness to His people, even in the face of their struggles and external opposition. The Israelites faced hardships, but God provided healing, victory, and protection. The story of Balaam reminds us that no curse or enemy can stand against God’s plans for His people—what He blesses, remains blessed.
As we navigate life’s challenges, we can trust that God is in control. His promises are unshakable, and His provision is always enough. Let’s walk forward in faith, knowing that if God is for us, nothing can stand against us.
