💖 Scripture of the Day

“Prepare to meet your God, O Israel.” — Amos 4:12

Woman Reading Bible with Coffee

Amos, a shepherd-turned-prophet, delivers God’s bold message of justice and accountability. These chapters thunder with judgment against surrounding nations—and against Israel itself—for their violence, oppression, and hypocrisy. God is not impressed with empty religious rituals when hearts are corrupt and the poor are neglected. Yet within His warnings is a call to return: “Seek the Lord and live.” Amos reminds us that God’s holiness demands justice, His love demands repentance, and His mercy is still extended to all who will turn back to Him.

📖 Overview of Amos 1–4
🔹 Amos 1 – Judgments pronounced against the nations surrounding Israel.
🔹 Amos 2 – Judgment extends to Judah and Israel for idolatry, injustice, and oppression.
🔹 Amos 3 – God’s chosen people are held accountable for their sin.
🔹 Amos 4 – God calls Israel to return, even after repeated discipline is ignored.

📣 Justice and Return

Amos 1–4 reminds us that God sees every act of injustice, whether among the nations or within His own people. He calls us beyond empty religion to authentic repentance, justice, and faithfulness. The roar of His judgment is also a loving call: return and live.
