💖 Scripture of the Day:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” – Jeremiah 1:5
The book of Jeremiah opens with the calling of a young prophet chosen to carry a heavy but holy burden. Jeremiah is set apart before birth to speak God’s Word to a rebellious nation. Through vivid language and sorrowful imagery, God lays out the case against His people in chapters 2 and 3. Their unfaithfulness grieves Him deeply—but His arms are still open wide. The message is clear: though the people have run far, God longs to bring them home.
📖 Overview of Jeremiah 1–3
🔹 Jeremiah 1 – Jeremiah is called and appointed by God as a prophet to the nations.
🔹 Jeremiah 2 – God’s charges against Israel: they have forsaken Him, the fountain of living water.
🔹 Jeremiah 3 – Despite unfaithfulness, God pleads for His people to return to Him with true repentance.
📢 Known, Called, and Pursued
Jeremiah’s story begins with a calling that is both intimidating and divine. As God reveals the brokenness of His people, His desire for their return is unwavering. These opening chapters remind us that God sees, knows, and calls us—and even when we turn away, He still pursues us with a heart full of mercy.
