Ruth 1-4 tells a beautiful story of love, faithfulness, and redemption set during the time of the Judges. Naomi, after losing her husband and sons, returns to Bethlehem in sorrow, accompanied by her Moabite daughter-in-law, Ruth. Despite uncertainty, Ruth chooses faithfulness, working hard to provide for Naomi. Through divine providence, she meets Boaz, a kind and honorable man who ultimately redeems both Ruth and Naomi’s family line. This story foreshadows Christ as our ultimate Redeemer, reminding us that God’s grace is always at work, even in life’s hardships.

📚 Overview of Ruth 1-4

🔹 Ruth 1 – A Loyal Commitment
After losing her husband, Ruth refuses to abandon Naomi, declaring, “Your people will be my people, and your God my God” (Ruth 1:16).

🔹 Ruth 2 – Finding Favor in the Fields
Ruth gleans in Boaz’s field, unaware that he is a relative who will play a key role in her future. His kindness foreshadows God’s provision.

🔹 Ruth 3 – A Bold Request
Following Naomi’s advice, Ruth humbly asks Boaz to be her kinsman-redeemer, displaying trust in God’s plan for her future.

🔹 Ruth 4 – Redemption and Legacy
Boaz honors his role as a redeemer, marrying Ruth and securing her family’s future. Their lineage leads to King David and, ultimately, to Jesus.
